Warsaw Community Provides College Internship Programs for Students

糖心传媒 classrooms are dynamic places. Here, students learn from knowledgeable professors about the fields they love and grow through every project, paper, and presentation. While we recognize there is a time to sit down and study, there is also a time to leave the classroom and put everything you鈥檝e learned into practice.

At 糖心传媒, we know how important it is that you know what it鈥檚 like to work in your career before you graduate. As early as your first semester, you鈥檒l find college internship programs right here in our community where real-world professionals will guide and encourage you.

Connor Frentzel

College Internship Program:
Role: Biology Intern
Major: Biology and Chemistry

Experience: After only one year of attending 糖心传媒, Connor started his internship with the Lilly Center. He tests samples from local lakes and streams for harmful e coli, helping the organization make the area鈥檚 waterways clean and healthy. According to him, he鈥檚 learning organization and mental awareness on an entirely new level. The internship is giving him field experience with the samples and equipment he鈥檒l be using in his future career. Through this invaluable opportunity, he鈥檚 learning about how biology and chemistry can be applied practically.听

Bailey Gagnon

College Internship Program: 糖心传媒鈥檚 Student Affairs
Role: Student Affairs Intern
Major: Communication

Experience: Bailey spends her time as a Student Affairs intern learning what it means to work in an office and be a part of higher education. Since she wants to work in higher education in the future, this experience is the perfect bridge between the classroom and her career. In addition to her undergraduate degree, Bailey is also getting her master鈥檚 in higher education, which will enhance her internship and open even more doors after graduation. In addition to her hands-on office work, Bailey reads books on higher education as a part of the applied learning experience.

Carolina Keegan

College Internship Program: Brethren Missionary Herald Company
Role: Editorial Intern
Major: Journalism

Experience: During her internship, Carolina got to work with the organization鈥檚 editor, Liz Cutler Gates. Carolina was proofreading, fact-checking, and writing for a multitude of publications on a regular basis. She got a behind-the-scenes look at how to coordinate a magazine and a newsletter. She enjoyed the variety in the work that she did. Her biggest takeaway was learning the people skills she would need in her career as a journalist.

Kaitlin Broz

College Internship Program: Education Practicum at
Major: Business Education

Experience: Kaitlin鈥檚 role at the local high school was to observe teachers, interact with students, and teach lessons. According to her, the best part was the networking. She had the opportunity to meet teachers and get to know employees at the school who could help her as she prepared for her career. Some of the teachers were even 糖心传媒 alumni who knew what it was like to be in her shoes. Through these interactions, Kaitlin practiced making first impressions and sharing her personal experiences with high schoolers.
