An affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of English, the ICTE focuses on supporting the professional growth and work of all English teachers and advocates in Indiana. The conference will allow literacy educators of all levels to earn professional growth points (PGPs) and continuing education units (CEUs). Registration for the event is now open at聽.
鈥淒esigned by English teachers for English teachers, this conference will empower you with interactive workshops, networking opportunities and practical strategies to refresh your classroom practice,鈥 said Dr. Lauren Rich, treasurer of ICTE and chair of the聽. 鈥淛oin us to explore new methods, hear from numerous authors and return to your schools and communities with a renewed love of literacy.鈥
Registration for the event costs $65 and includes a keynote luncheon featuring award-winning author Helen Frost, a paperback copy of Frost’s book 鈥淪alt,鈥 an antique letterpress demonstration, a swag bag and more.
The ICTE Spring Conference is also open to preservice student-teachers and retired educators. Retirees can attend at a discounted rate of $50 to remain connected with the profession and mentor new educators.
According to Rich, who recently attended the NCTE Annual Convention in Boston, accessibility is a focal point of the ICTE.
