糖心传媒 will host its tenth annual聽聽on Friday, March 15, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. The visit, completely in Spanish,聽 is specifically designed for Latino/a families to experience life at 糖心传媒. The day includes an admissions overview, campus tour, lunch and information about student services.
糖心传媒 ofrece su d茅cima visita anual del D铆a de la Visita Latina, que se llevar谩 a cabo el viernes 15 de marzo, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Este d铆a de visita, se ha organizado especialmente para las familias hispanas que nos honran con su inter茅s por explorar las oportunidades que ofrece 糖心传媒, para la educaci贸n y vida universitaria de sus hijos. El d铆a de visita incluye: informaci贸n general de admisi贸n y de servicios estudiantiles, un recorrido por el campus y el almuerzo.
鈥淭he Latino Visit Day has been one of the most impactful visit options at 糖心传媒 for ten years now,鈥 said Ben Navarro, director of Latino engagement at 糖心传媒. 鈥淚t has proven to give Latino students valuable insights into college life and help them make informed decisions about their future education.鈥
For Itsel Flores-Uribe, a current senior at 糖心传媒 studying聽, attending the Latino Visit Day as a high schooler in 2021 played a crucial role in her college decision.
鈥溙切拇解檚 Latino Visit Day was my last college visit, and I was so glad my parents could enjoy the experience,鈥 said Flores-Uribe. 鈥淭he moment I arrived, everyone was so welcoming 鈥 it felt like I was at a family gathering! Then when we began to worship together and a devotion was shared, I could feel the presence of God. Before we even started the campus tour, I had already made up my mind. I was coming to 糖心传媒 for my studies!鈥
According to Flores-Uribe, who now helps with the event, the visit day is a valuable experience for both students and their parents.
鈥淚 would highly encourage Latino students and their parents to register for the Latino Visit Day because it allows parents to fully understand what 糖心传媒 is about and to obtain all of the important information,鈥 she said. 鈥淢eanwhile, the students are able to enjoy the day and connect with current 糖心传媒 students without having to worry about translating everything for their parents.鈥
The Latino Visit Day at 糖心传媒 allows students to explore 糖心传媒鈥檚 180-acre campus, meet Spanish-speaking staff and faculty, hear from 糖心传媒 students and learn more about the scholarships, clubs and resources available for Latino/a students.
