In my roles at 糖心传媒, I think about God鈥檚 Creation daily. I have been reading the Creation account in Genesis 1 with students for years, but I recently began to take note of some important repetitions in the days of Creation that we read: 鈥淟et there be,鈥 鈥淎nd it was so,鈥 鈥淎nd there was evening, and there was morning.鈥 However, there is also a phrase that is repeated and then abruptly changed at the end of the chapter. 鈥淎nd God saw that it was good鈥 is repeated several times until, in verse 31, we read, “God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good.”聽
Initially, we might think the human part of Creation made it 鈥渧ery鈥 good. But the Bible does not simply repeat, 鈥渁nd God saw that it was good,鈥 after God created Adam and Eve. Instead, the Bible says that God considered 鈥渁ll鈥 or 鈥渆verything鈥 He made depending on the translation, and that is what was 鈥渧ery good.鈥 God is both evaluating and pronouncing His Creation as very good.聽
